At the heart of any great plan is a simple principle: listen first.
As we work alongside Clark County School District (CCSD) to shape a long-term vision for its schools through the Facilities Master Plan (FMP), one thing has been clear from the start: working with the community is essential.
The FMP is a district-wide roadmap that helps identify how CCSD’s facilities can best support students now and into the future. That’s where the Stakeholder Advisory Groups (SAGs) play a vital role.
The SAGs are regional working groups made up of students, parents, teachers, school leaders, and community members from every corner of the district – there are five of them across the district. They bring real voices to the table and ensure school communities across all areas of the district are represented and heard. These groups don’t just advise, they co-create. Helping shape surveys, amplify community engagement, and offer insight into the specific needs of their regions.
So far, we have engaged with each regional SAG twice. Each session has been an opportunity to not only share data and considerations, but to truly learn from the lived experiences of those closest to CCSD.
In June, we will merge members of the SAG with the District Planning Group (DPG) to explore planning scenarios, weigh trade-off options, and continue shaping ideas that reflect the values and needs of the community. The input we gather will translate into the recommendations we will share with the community this fall, refining a roadmap that will guide future decisions about school buildings, programs, and investments across the district.

There’s still time to get involved. Whether you attend a Community Forum, complete a survey, or follow the Facilities Master Plan journey online, your voice matters. Planning isn’t just about buildings; it’s about building trust. And thanks to the voices around the table, we’re doing exactly that.
